It is not my intention to preach, nor to claim what I believe as true to anyone else. What I believe is for me, and for me only... It is my path. From time to time I may comment on an issue I feel requires judgement, but never do I claim to be beyond doubt. Only the foolhardy claim that right. While it is not desireable to stand in judgement of someone, it is by nature and necessity that sometimes we must. When we do we must first judge ourselves by the same standard. Without that, justice may not exist. It is not a requirement to agree, to accept. What is fine wine for you, may be venom to me. You may drink your wine in my company, but do not expect me to accept your toast. No two paths are exactly the same, and may not be travelled more than once. Each one is unique. Several paths may intersect many times, or parallel for great distances, but eventually, by their nature, go their seperate ways. There exists an uncountable myriad of paths and there will be many false starts from the path that is true. Choosing the right one immediately is unlikely, and you may wander from path to path blindly. The experience however, is invaluable, and priceless. One of these paths you must choose, and doing nothing may be your choice. The greatest tragedy are those who never find theirs, and wander lost for eternity. X is verifiable as X if and only if X is definable by previous experience. All
else is theoretical, and relies solely on Human nature exists to discover and categorize, to believe one can escape classification is foolish. It is also human nature to conform, and even those that declare themselves "non - conformists" conform to that idea, and are thus twice as foolish Enlightenment may be gained from any facet in life, be it profound or mundane. It is most often the case though that it is the mundane which is the most profound. Pacifism is an intrinsically worthless philosophy. While it at first may seem lofty and noble, it is in fact shallow and cowardly. It exists only because better men are willing to fight and die so that they may not. Ethics are what society as a whole places upon the individual for the good of society. Morality is the virtues which we place upon ourselves to better the individual. Violation of either results in an imbalance. A human soul is much like that of a nation, judged not by the individual factions that make up that nation, but by the nation as a whole. Like nations at war it makes most of it advances in this state rather than when at peace. A soul totally at war is a terrible thing... A soul totally at peace is a stagnant thing. Upon the neutral minds of men to prove one to another, one must first earn loyalty. Only after, when the loyalty is implicitly trusted may true faith exist. All else is blind folly. Faith without secured loyalty is shallow. Just because I have faith that the ice will hold beneath my feet, does not mean that it will. There is no rule or law made by man, or by god, which is beyond exception. Justice can not exist where laws are absolute. There will come a time when I will breathe no more. Where I will see, hear, taste, and feel no more. When that time comes I will be placed beneath the Earth, existing there until the universe itself comes to an end. I will know only what I learned in the blink of time which I existed, if even that function exists at all. Patience, leadership and understanding are not things that are inherent in human nature. They are taught or learned by experience and introspection. Know this now... Every action, every inaction, every breath breath, every moment in your life, is a direction you have travelled that has altered who you are. Your decision to, or not to, advances you down a road of fate you would not have previously taken. Going right may endow you with riches, going left may cripple you, and doing neither may make your day uneventful. You will never know what the other paths might have brought, only the path you have chosen in hind sight. So know this now... By choosing to read this, you yourself have changed, and have taken a path you would not have taken before... |
